Paroxetine – Paxil CR |
Anti depressant like Paroxetine helps in reducing depression in
people and it has released a restricted version Paxil CR, which is
available in tablets of 12.5, 25, and 37.5 mg. The tablets should be
store at room temperature which is 15- 30°C (59-86°F). Interaction
with other chemical may affect the effectiveness of the medicine
like for example: alcohol and trptophan is present in natural food
like turkey and milk which can be harmful for the patient, the
doctor is require to examine patient diet regularly. Paroxetine may
also be prescribed for other purposes, like premenstrual dysphoric
disorder (PMDD).
Patient can take single dose daily of Paxil CR in the morning with
or without meal, which is 25mg per day, but patient suffering from
massive depressive disorder can take up to 65 mg per day but it may
delay the full effect. But dose should change after the interval of
at least 1 week. PAXIL can be use for as long as it is effective,
but there is no body evidence for it to tell. It is studied that
pharmacologic therapy should be continued for several months if
there is no change in the condition of the patient who is
experiences major depressive disorder.
Regular assessment of the effectiveness of the Paxil CR which was
immediately released can be effective for up to 1 year with the
average dose of 35mg. It is however recommended that you should not
stop paroxetine altogether if you have been using Paxil CR
regularly. Advice should be sought from your health care
professionals and the dose should be reduced gradually rather than
giving it up suddenly.
